2 minutes into pheasant season

This Saturday at noon marked the opening of the 2007 Fall pheasant season. Theo decided to take Laura out on the hunt, despite her very minimal training. They walked until they found a good spot, and sat and waited for noon to come; at 11:30 Theo called me whispering he'd already seen two pheasants. At noon, he let Laura off her leash, and she promptly kicked up a pheasant in the corn field, Theo shot it, and she fetched--as if she'd been doing it all her life. Theo was so prod of her he called me breathless shouting, "She did it!" We're so proud of our Laura Lu, and of Theo, too, for getting such a pretty bird, and so early in the season, too.
