Pool Time!

These boys love their new pool! It's large enough that they can have all their toys and not bump into one another. (Amd large enough for mom to float in when they nap, if need be, LOL!)

Hunter is fearless, and knowing dips his head close to the water. I had to put the floaties on his arms to keep him from sinking. LOL. I can't leave the poolside, so I pulled up a chair, and soaked my feet.

Hunter tried on the goggles, too. Adorable.
Happy summer everyone!

Visit with Me-Maw: Part 2

So many pictures from our weekend, I had to create a second post!
Here are some more pictures from our zoo experience.

The boys were so excited to ride the carousel. Hunter loved his ride, shouting "wee" the whole time, and happily yelling and waving, "Hi Dah-dah!" everytime we passed dad sitting on the sidelines.

Ben chose the bench for him and Me-Maw. LOL.

Hunter got a little time on the shoulders of dad. Nice view of the polar bears from up there.

No trip to the zoo would be complete without a goofy head-in-the-hole picture.
And, they were OUT. Totally exhausted from a busy day.
On our way home we stopped at Walmart to get the kids a pool (and pool toys, clothes, sandals, and swim trunks, because that's what me-maw's do, they spoil their grandkids!) While dad works on the pool, Ben models his new swim goggles.

Hunter gets naked in preparation for the pool. LOL. He walked around this for some time.

The pool is filling up.

me-Maw helped pump up the pool, but got cold from the sunburn she got at the zoo and farmer's market. Isn't she cute all bundled up in the blanket?

Sunday morning we took turns napping (the boys were up at 4am!) We also stepped outside for a family picture shoot, and later walked to breakfast at local diner.

Thanks for everything Me-maw! We miss you, and can't wait to see you again in a few weeks.

Visit with Me-Maw: Part 1

Last Friday Me-Maw came up from Peoria to visit with us. She stayed the whole weekend, and we had a lot of fun. When she got here the boys led her into the backyard right away. She's dancing with Hunter here.
Saturday morning we woke up and headed to Cracker Barrell for breakfast. Hunter loves this place!
Right after breakfast we went to the Dane County Farmer's Market. The crowds were not that bad, and we came home with a Amish strawberry-rhubarb pie--the best pie ever!
I had to use the potty while we were there. In all the times we've been to the market I've never had to go potty there, so this was my first time into the Capitol Building. Oh my goodness. This was certainly the nicest bathroom I'd ever been in (didn't take pictures in there, but I could have!) I did take a few pictures of the steps and halls in the building.

After the farmer's market we went to the Henry Vilas Zoo. Turns out there was a lot going on at the zoo, including bouncy houses, food from local vendors, live music, and other activities. Me-Maw was dancing with the boys to the live music.
Ben silenced me.

The bouncy house was a must-do. Hunter was excited, until he got inside and then he was just confused.
He could not figure out how to get his footing. There were only 4 kids in the house, so this nice girl tried to help Hunter stand up. This lil' man is a chick magnet. LOL.

He figured it out eventually, but never really did "bounce." Meanwhile, Ben has a blast.
Just outside the bouncy house the black bears were out. They're never out. I can't help but wonder if they came out to see what this bouncy house thing was? lol.
Just around the corner the grizzlies were out, too. My favorite. I was so excited!
I love the progression of Hunter's expressions here. First he's dumbfounded. His favorite movie right now is The Country Bears, so he had to have been thinking about that:
Then he's concerned.
Dad eases his concern.
And he's down-right pumped.
There was also a tatoo booth. Both boys got zoo-themed tatoos.

More to come on a second post. :)
