No rest for us. To the Zoo!

As if farmer's markets, free zoos, farm fairs, train rides, fishing, antiquing, shopping in Cedarburg, seeing the Richfield, WI Cabela's and playing at Chuck E. Cheese were not enough, Thursday we went off to a big zoo. The free zoo in Madison does not have elephants, giraffes, or many big cats, but the Milwaukee County Zoo had just about every animal you could phathom!

The boys rode the carousel.

He is looking right at me!

Big cats:
The zoo had a petting zoo.

Ben rode a pony...

Here are the giraffes:

And beautiful elephants:

Daddy, Ben and Hunter rode a camel, too!

This zoo is really beautiful, filled with interesting landscaping, wooded areas, and even a lake. It rained and we ate our packed lunch under a roof by the giraffes. Just after the rain we walked through wolf woods. The wolf was sleeping, but the trees were pretty.

Don't you just want to go sleep next to these critters?

Imagine my happiness when I saw on the map of the zoo a huge place designated for Moose! My very first real live moose. Thrilled. (I have collected all things moose for a decade now, and once answered to the nickname "Moose").

Across from the moose's house there was this lake. Beautiful! Good place for pictures, I thought.

I don't mean to offend, but we joke this picture is Jason with his re-re sister. Sorry, but I pass for a retard in this one. LOL.

It wouldn't be a good day with grandma if the boys didn't get an ice cream cone.

The zoo currently has an exhibit where we could touch sharks and sting rays. Good fun! hard to get decent pictures. I had to swing Ben out over the water in order to get to reach the sting rays.

This zoo even had a another train for Ben to ride; twice in one week! Love the train landscaping, too.

One long, excellent day at the zoo. Grandma had promised Ben on the phone months and months earlier she would take him to the zoo. In his wildest dreams I don't think he could have imagines such an exciting time! Thanks, Grandma!
