Welcome Thomas
Our newest adventure...
How cool is this?
Welcome Thomas the Tank Engine to the Rex House. We've watched him on TV, and gawked at him the Toys R' Us. My crazy butt decided to put together a huge train set with a 2 year old!? Insane? Yes, I am.
So, yesterday morning, when Hunter napped, I brought Ben in the basement to fold laundry, or "lahn-lee," in Ben-speak. He found the stash of rainy day toys. I put some of his Christmas presents that he wasn't "ready" for in the basement. We tested out Thomas the Tank Engine's track back in December and he quickly disesembled it and had small pieces all over the place--not very Hunter-appropriate.
Lately, Ben has been demonstrating a lot more discipline. He knows Hunter can't have certain toys. So when he saw the giant Thomas box and asked Momma to bring it upstairs, I buckled. We are SO BORED in this house some days. It's too cold to go outside (-5 this morning, 10 days below 20 degrees). So, we spent 3.5 hours yesterday setting up this huge Thomas set.
So far, so good. I left all the small detachable pices in the box; this thing comes with trees and cargo like logs for the trains. But, the basics are still fun. Ben's favorite part is the water and coal fueling station. He loves to push the buttons to give Thomas "wah-tee."
We had to shorten the whole set up to make it fit on the table. Can you imagine this thing is supposed to be bigger than this? We found it at Walmart this Christmas for $50.00. If you know how much Thomas stuff cost, you know that is a great deal!
He loves the bridge, too!! He helped me put that part together. I hope you enjoy the pictures of his newest toy. He has a Thomas whistle, toothbrush, movies, pajamas, overalls, flashlight, some push and go trains and now this... you should see how muc he loves the train going through town!
