Scrapbooking: Pinwheel Embellishments with a Boyish Twist.

One of the latest trends in scrapbooking is making pinwheel fans from paper. Frustrated and jealous that I have no cute girlie girls to scrap about, I blogged here a few weeks ago about all the adorable circle-inspired cuteness on pages I've seen lately, and pledged to try my own versions on pages about my boys. Here is a sneak peak at my proof that not all pinwheels need to be pink and centered with rhinestones and flowers.

Thanks for sneakin' a peak. More pictures of the full layouts to come soon!

You are more than welcome to scrap my little girls....I can send you some cool pics, hee hee. Actually, I started my 1st "scrap-esque" project that I can't wait to show you on my blog. Can you write about how to make those pinwheels? Also, I am using an exacto knife for everything....can you recommend to me some must have tools for scrapping? I'm going to show up on your doorstep one day just to get a look at your cute kids and killer scrapbooks. I'm not kidding :)

LOL. The only person who has ever looked at all my scrapbooks is me. There are that many! I will post some instructions on making these bad boys in a few days, perhaps after we get back from AWW! ;)

You are welcome on my doorstep and in my home anytime. :)

I use a small (12 inch) straight cutter from Fiskars, a cheaper model than this one:

I also use a small pair of kid's scissors that I feel comfortable leaving out on my desk, and random punches (mostly by Martha Stewart and EK Success which you can find at Michaels).

I have plans to resume scrapping my garden to fulfill my need for all things feminine. That is, when I find the time. lol.

I really dig these J. They make me think of sunshine and fireworks and county fair ribbons -- all perfectly delightful for the little guys!

Very cool! You've inspired me to try this in a few "boys" only layouts.
